Rain falls down
Heavy
On already saturated earth

Are you so involved in the details?
Or do you sit and watch
As our horror unfolds?
She won't eat
I eat too much
We make ourselves sick

The rain on the roof, rushing through roof gutters
pattering on our driveway
mocks the solemnity of this moment
I am angry
And so I laugh

Misconceptionswash away like sidewalk chalk
There is no more black and white
I embrace this naked reality
Vagueness is my friend

Water splashes my legs as I dance
in these muddy rain puddles.
